MSC to Showcase Latest Services and Solutions at World's Largest Import-themed Expo

MSC is going to exhibit at the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) from 5 to 10 November 2021, showcasing its latest services and industry expertise with a focus on its intermodal and digital solutions.
This is the third consecutive year that MSC has exhibited at this global import-themed trade event. According to the CIIE Bureau, over 3,000 participating enterprises from over 120 countries are expected to take part at this year’s fair.
According to statistics released in October by China Customs, China continues to be world’s top trading country in terms of export and import volume in 2021. MSC is committed to the China market, with a strong presence of 28 branch offices and 37 direct services calling at 16 ports. Earlier in August, it also announced a strategic partnership with Shanghai International Port Group to build a new in-port yard in Yangshan to improve the efficiency of releasing empty containers from the terminal.
Expansion of service footprint and offering alternative solutions
In 2021, MSC has launched more than 10 intermodal services in China, a mixture of rail and barge services, offering greater convenience and efficiency for customers situated in inland areas of China. These then connect to MSC’s deep-sea services at one of the 16 ports that MSC is calling at in Greater China. A new MSC China intermodal flyer has recently been produced for distribution at the expo.
Visitors to the expo can also learn more about the new services and solutions MSC has launched over the past year. An example is MSC’s Taiga service launched in April, which combines the company’s intra-Asia shipping network, rail service in Russia and its short-sea feeder network in Europe. MSC has also launched a number of new transpacific services including the Puma service, which connects South China and Long Beach, and is MSC’s first regular service to call at DaChan Bay terminal.
Spotlight on MSC’s digital offerings
At MSC, we believe that technology will help to bring about greater security, transparency and efficiency for our customers, and we are taking steps to increase our digital solutions.
Following the official launch of the MSC electronic bill of lading (eBL) solution in April, China is currently one of the company’s top markets in terms of volume of eBL transactions. At CIIE this year, there will be on-site demonstrations at MSC’s booth of its digital platforms and solutions. This includes myMSC, MSC’s eBusiness platform which provides 24/7 online access to tools such as Instant Quote, retrieval of documents such as booking confirmations and arrival notices, and submission of Shipping Instructions and Verified Gross Mass (VGM).
