The key representative for the European coffee trade and industry, the ECF comprises 16 national associations and 42 members, championing over 700 companies, from SMEs to multinationals, that handle around 35% of the world coffee trade volume. The Federation selects its ‘Shipping Line of the Year’ through a performance-based survey distributed amongst the ECF Logistics Committee.

Outstanding coffee capabilities and connections
With over 500 billion cups of coffee consumed annually worldwide, this global commodity is estimated to be worth more than US$100 billion. MSC plays a crucial role, working closely with exporters, brokers and importers during the coffee season to ensure the best care possible for crops from farm to destination.
Tailor-made customer service by local experts, intermodal transport capabilities, dedicated warehouses, and fast and reliable transits are just a few examples of how we lead the way for the coffee industry.
For the ECF, MSC was particularly distinguished by our service quality, schedule reliability, and container availability during the 2023-24 period. Our extensive global network and state-of-the-art vessel fleet enabled us to keep coffee shipments moving despite trade blockages and disruptions, such as those in the Suez Canal. This capability was crucial for the ECF, which accounts for an estimated total import volume of 40 million coffee bags.
