MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company and Termont, a container terminal operator based at the Port of Montreal, were honoured to host Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and European leaders including Commission President Donald Tusk at a visit in July 2019.
The visit coincided with a summit of talks about the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between Canada and the European Union. More than 90 percent of containerized goods traded between Europe and Canada pass through the Port of Montreal, many of them on MSC’s shipping services.
Our crew on the MSC Shaula were able to greet Prime Minister Trudeau from the side of the vessel, as he toured a container terminal where MSC handles a variety of goods, especially from retail and manufacturing sectors.
Termont provides year-round fast, direct and economical access to major markets in central Canada and the U.S. It is one of 62 terminals in MSC Group’s global portfolio of terminal investments, which is overseen by MSC’s subsidiary TiL (Terminal Investment Ltd).
