Due to the strong demand of containers and consequent lack of equipment from Europe to US, MSC will increase the current Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for all cargo moving from NWC, ScanBaltic, West Med, Adriatic, Canary Island to US all coasts and Puerto Rico.
As from 1 April 2022 until further notice, the PSS will be increased as below and will apply to all dry, reefer and special equipment for cargo originating from
WEST MED, ADRIATIC, CANARY ISLAND TO USEC, GULF AND PUERTO RICO:
- from current USD 2’200 to USD 3’200 per 20’
- from current USD 2’700 to USD 4’700 per 40’
WEST MED, ADRIATIC, CANARY ISLAND to USWC:
- from current USD 3’200 to USD 4’200 per 20’
- from current USD 3’700 to USD 5’700 per 40’
NWC and SCANBALTIC to USEC (excluding SAVANNAH) GULF and PUERTO RICO:
- from current USD 2’200 to USD 3’200 per 20’
- from current USD 2’700 to USD 4’700 per 40’
NWC and SCANBALTIC to SAVANNAH (US):
- from current USD 3’200 to USD 4’200 per 20’
- from current USD 3’700 to USD 5’700 per 40’
Please note that for cargo from NWC and ScanBaltic to USWC, the PSS will be increased in two stages:
- as from 13 March (as announced on 14 February):
- from current USD 3’200 to USD 5’200 per 20’
- from current USD 3’700 to USD 5’700 per 40’
- as from 1 April:
- from USD 5’200 to USD 6’200 per 20’
- from USD 5’700 to USD 7’700 per 40’
Any other elements of the price, for the relevant trades published on msc.com, still apply and remain unchanged.
