MSC was pleased to return as official sponsor of one of the most important regattas in the sailing calendar: the Spanish Snipe Class Championship. This year’s event was held at the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club in Getxo, Bilbao, from 31 August to 3 September.
This major sporting event brought together sailing enthusiasts from all over Spain to enjoy the competition, in which more than 80 boats took part.
With the aim of reinforcing and strengthening the company’s relationship with the logistics community in the Bilbao area, customers and partners were invited to follow the regatta from the front line of the competition, accompanied by the Branch Manager of MSC in Bilbao, Sergio Ruigómez, and Carlos de Castellvi, Branch Manager of MSC in Andalusia, a great expert and sailing enthusiast.
As the main sponsor of the regatta, MSC also took part in the awards ceremony. Sergio Ruigómez, Branch Manager of MSC Bilbao, said: ''we are particularly excited to be present at such an important nautical sporting event, which helps us to confirm our commitment to the Cantabrian coast and to highlight the values of MSC, among which the care of our immediate environment, the sea, stands out''.
Sailing is a sport that combines sacrifice, the spirit of overcoming adversity and teamwork, values that are closely linked to those of MSC. This special relationship between MSC and the world of sailing has been demonstrated by the company's participation in other sailing events, such as the 24th edition of the SM La Reina Trophy held in June at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, in which MSC's own sailing team, made up of company employees, competed.
