MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is pleased to renew our support as lead sponsor for the third edition of the Maritime Transport Efficiency (MTE) Conference, which will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from 26-27 September 2022, and highlight sustainability in the maritime sector.

The two-day event is an opportune occasion for likeminded peers across the shipping industry to discuss opportunities and challenges for the sector’s transition to a low-carbon economy; from shipowners, carriers, charterers and industry associations, to policymakers and technology developers. Conference participants will address innovative solutions to facilitate the energy transition, drawing attention to the future of fuels and the regulatory environment.

At MSC, our goal line is clear, and we are accelerating our course to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Participants will be able to learn more about MSC by attending our presentations, which will highlight how we are reducing our emissions through improving our operational efficiency, using transitional lower-carbon fuels, and exploring and trialling alternative fuels and technologies.

“We acknowledge shipping's role in climate change, and as a responsible family company investing in sustainable global trade, we will continue to drive action in this area,” said Soren Toft, CEO, MSC. MSC’s speakers at the event will include Claudio Abbate, Vice President Maritime Policy & Government Affairs, MSC Group and Prabhat Jha, CEO, MSC Shipmanagement Cyprus.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the MSC delegation, including representatives covering public policy, energy efficiency, bunker procurement and sustainability at an exhibition stand.

Looking ahead, MSC’s decarbonisation journey will require unwavering long-term commitment and collaboration across the industry, supported and catalysed by government policy. MTE Conference provides the perfect platform to strengthen cross-industry action and move the needle on sustainability.
