Fresh from an impressive performance at this year’s Bol d’Or Mirabaud, MSC’s competitive sailing team is excited to be taking part in the XXIV Trofeo S.M. La Reina for the first time.
MSC will charter a Swan 45 for this prestigious European regatta. The Copa de la Reina crew includes MSC employees Jean-Charles Siraudin, Christopher O’Connor, Guillaume Rigot-Dupraz, Olivier Raison, Paulo Quariguasy, Fabio Di Rosa, Damien Benard, Lars Termansen and Angelo Pietrantonio, as well as two members from outside the company: Skipper Nicolas Groux and Boat Captain Santi Más.
MSC is built on maritime heritage, with a genuine passion for the sea and a strong commitment to our employees and communities. This makes sailing a natural fit for our business and corporate values, as a family company that cares for the environment and our people.
Sailing is one of the greenest sports in the world and by nature promotes the preservation of marine environment – and we need clean seas to properly perform in both competitions and in business.
The MSC Sailing Team started as an internal initiative, but the commitment of our sailors was so impressive that it was decided the team should start participating in international regattas. The MSC Team are now frequent participants in regattas worldwide each year and recently won the Grand Prix Psaros 33 on Lake Geneva.
Held in Valencia, Spain from June 30 to July 2, the Trofeo S.M. La Reina has been running since 1988. The competition will be held in three regatta venues located between the Real Club Náutico in Valencia and the beaches of Pinedo and El Saler. There are 105 boats pre-registered in this year’s edition from 7 countries.
