MSC is delighted to receive a major award at the Mega Cargo Show CTL -BHP 2020, held last week at Mumbai, India.
The jury recognised the expertise and efforts of MSC’s project cargo team, including MSC’s skilled staff in planning, logistics and operations departments. The jury was impressed with MSC’s success in the Indian project cargo and breakbulk market. MSC proven record in transporting some challenging cargoes smoothly and safely, its dedicated breakbulk focus in India and worldwide, supported by its excellent communications and liaison with customers has proved very popular with the market in India and beyond.
“This award is significant to us because it was voted for by our valued customers, service providers and industry professionals. MSC continues to make a positive impact in the project cargo sector. We strive every day to provide consistently high service levels and solutions for our customers. Winning this award is a significant validation of our team efforts not only here in India but also on a global platform.” says Ben Collins, Global Project Cargo Manager at MSC, at the company’s Geneva headquarters.
Focusing on high-quality ‘can-do’ service and problem solving, MSC India has rapidly expanded its project cargo and breakbulk business. Among its many achievements, in February 2020 MSC India shipped three 30-metre, 42-tonne asphalt vacuum distillation scrubbers from India to Iraq. When other carriers were unable to help, leaving the scrubbers stranded in the Port of Mumbai for two months, MSC stepped in to transport them securely and efficiently to Umm Qasr in Iraq – exactly where they were needed.
MSC has 40 years’ experience handling breakbulk, oversized and heavy lift cargoes. MSC India successfully carries regular breakbulk cargo and shipped some of the largest packages weighing over 100 metric tons from Jawaharlal Nehru port and 70 metric tons from Mundra port respectively.
