The current global political situation is creating major, and unpredictable, fluctuations on global fuel prices.
This situation significantly affects the feedering costs for shipping between Kenya and Tanzania too. Therefore, MSC will implement an Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) to all cargo transshipped in Mombasa, Kenya to/from Tanga or to/from Zanzibar, Tanzania.
For any new bookings made from 18 April 2022 onwards, the EFS will be charged USD 1,000 per TEU for all cargo and equipment types. For cargo from/to US, the EFS will apply as of 13 May 2022 B/L date.
Should you have any questions, please contact your local MSC representatives in our global network of more than 500 offices.
