MSC Statement on MSC RITA Incident

MSC confirms that MSC RITA deployed on our Indus Express service was involved in a collision which resulted in the sinking of a fishing boat called Tremont. The fishermen were brought to safety and no injuries were reported from either vessel.
The incident happened on 28 October at approximately 01:00 local time off the coast of Norfolk while the MSC vessel was en route from New York to Charleston.
Authorities have launched an investigation, with the full assistance and cooperation of MSC. Our first priority is to understand the circumstances which led to this unfortunate incident, and we are staying closely apprised to developments as they unfold.
