Contingency Adjustment Charge - Trade IPAK, Middle East, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

27/12/2023

In view of the recent events in the Red Sea, MSC has taken the decision to divert its ships via the Cape of Good Hope to maintain the safety of the crew, cargo, and ship.

This diversion will mean an increase in transit time depending on the destination and/or transhipment point involved.

As a result, as from 27 December 2023 (last container gate in date) until further notice, MSC will implement a Contingency Adjustment Charge (CAC) of USD 500/TEU on all shipments:

- from IPAK, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh to Australia, New Zealand, East Africa, South Africa, Mozambique and to Indian Ocean destinations.

- from Middle East to East Africa, South Africa, Mozambique and to Indian Ocean destinations.
