MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company announces:
- the following increase of the Emergency Operations Surcharge (EOS) as from October 10th, 2024: Current EOS: 1200 USD/20’, 1500 USD/40’ AND 2000 USD for reefers.
- New EOS: 1700 USD/20’, 2000 USD/40’ AND 2500 USD for reefers.
The current freight rates remain unchanged. For the sake of completeness, please find them below or refer to the announcement published on August 15th, 2024.

o CSF (Carrier Security Fee): USD 11/container
o EBS (Equipment Imbalance Surcharge): USD 630/dry container AND USD 1000 for reefers
o PCE (Panama Canal Emergency Surcharge) when applicable: USD 80/TEU
o ETS (Emissions Trading System): 30 EUR/TEU
o PSS (Peak Season Surcharge): 350 USD / TEU. From October 1st 2024 it will be increased to 600 USD / TEU as per announcement published on September 2nd , 2024
• FAK excludes all IMO Category commodities and high value commodities.
• Local and contingency charges may also apply, for further information please contact your MSC local agent.
• Tariffs for other port pairs on the trade, commodities, and container types (including reefers) that are not listed above may also be subject to increases. Please contact your MSC local agent for queries related to commodities not included in FAK rates, port pairs, or specific equipment or other pricing information not included in this Price Announcement.
• MSC agencies’ standard terms and conditions apply including MSC’s standard Bill of Lading. Unless otherwise specified in MSC agencies’ standard terms and conditions, MSC will allow 3 days’ free time to collect and return the container.
