MSC’s competitive sailing team will participate in the world’s leading inland lake regatta, the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, for the second time.
MSC is built on maritime heritage. We have a genuine passion for the sea and a strong commitment to our employees and communities.
This makes sailing a natural fit for our business and corporate values. We are a family company that cares for the environment and our people. Sailing is one of the greenest sports in the world and by nature promotes the preservation of marine environment. We need clean seas to properly perform in both, competitions and in business.
MSC Team started as an internal initiative but the commitment of our sailors was so impressive that it was decided the team should start participating in international regattas.
Running 15-16 June, the Bol d’Or is the first internationally renowned regatta of the year for the MSC Team, a Psaros 33 boat skippered by the experienced Nicolas Groux. More than 500 boats compete over a 123-kilometer course on Lake Geneva. The route takes them almost the whole length of the lake, from Geneva to Le Bouveret and back again.
Thousands of amateur sailors constitute the soul of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud aboard monotypes, prototypes, multihulls and monohulls, perpetuating the eclectic, festive, competitive and popular spirit of the race. A total of about 10 Psaros 33s are expected to take part.
MSC Team’s skipper Nicolas Groux has participated in the Tour de France à la voile five times, twice as skipper. He has two Swiss Championship titles in Surprise and three victories in the Primo Cup. Angelo Pietrantonio, Damien Benard, Fabio Di Rosa, Joel Kunzi, Lars Termansen and Olmo Del Pozzo complete the MSC team.
Since the start of the season in April, MSC Team has participated in other regattas on Lake Geneva, including the Geneva-Rolle.
